ANGEL 13 - BARADIEL
The thirteenth angel to face humanity, and the ninth angel to attack Tokyo 3, also known
as the patron angel of hail and blood. The angel Baradiel means "The Son Who Hails God"
and in the scripture, represents yet another angel that is one of the angels whos stats
as an archangel is questionable. Mentioned in the third book of Enoch, he is the angel that
will judges the sins of humans in the afterlife. It is mentioned, that he is often though of
as being in equal status to the angel of lightning, who could possibly angel 05 Ramiel that
appears in the series, who is the angel of thunder and lightning. Baradiel first appears in
episode 18 The judgement of life.

Once again, as is becoming common at this point in the series, the beginnings of this angel
is unclear. This angel originally started off, obviously, being evangelion unit 03, which had
been in construction in the united states for a number of years. During this pahse it showed
absolutly no tendency to be an angel, implying the angel didnt inhabit the unit at this time.
This leads to wonder at what point it entered unit 03. Its status as angel of hail, could give it
an entry into the eva thorugh possible contact wiht hail, during its transport to Japan, it did
pass through a thundercloud, which could make alot of sense. The abilities of this angel were
questionable, it was an eva, and hence could do everything an eva could, however it was unsure
just to what else it might change itself to do.Its test activation in Matsushiro,
Japan (a place near Tokyo 3), was where it first began its active life as an angel, not long after
Touji synced with the eva, it went bezerk, ignoring all shutdown and pilot ejection commands,
breaking out of the activation chamber and heading to Tokyo 3.
When the call of angel was recieved at Tokyo 3, Matsushiro, was still recovering from the evangelion
break out. Hence there was some confusion amoung those at NERV to what the angel actually was. The pilots
of the remaining evangleion were scrambled with no mission briefing, and took thier positions near the expected
entry point of the target to Tokyo 3. Not long after, it arrived, and attacked units 00 and 02 at the
same time, quickly disabling unit 02 and attempting to fuse with unit 00, which it failed and then disabled
unit 00. T continued to Tokyo 3, soon meeting unit 01, who it attacked with even more force than it had
before, using an ability to streach and contort its limbs, (going through the ground) to get ahold of
unit 01. Commander Gendou Ikari, after pleading with Shinji to retalliate, who refused out of pity for the
angels trapped pilot, engaged the dummy plug system, (untested at the time) which attacked wiht omense
force, not only destryong the angel, but tearing it limb from limb, spraying blood everywhere (once again
appropriate for an angel of blood), and injuring Touji, when it crushed the entry pulg.
