ANGEL 16 - ARMISAEL
The sixteenth angel to face humanity, and the twelth to attack Tokyo 3, also known as the
patron angel of the womb. The name Armisael means "Protector of the unborn". In the
scripture, he is the angel the angel who should be called upon to assist in easy childbirth.
According to the teachings of the talmud, a woman could improve giving birth by reciting Psalm 20
nine times, if this is not effective, then one should try the following invocation; "I conjure you,
Armisael, angel who governs the womb, that you help this woman and the child in her body."It was once
believed that Armisael had power over pregnant women and their children. Armsiel first appears in
episode 23 Tear.

The beginnings of this angel were rather sudden, it simply, just, appeared. One moment, it wasnt there,
then the next moment, the angel was spotted, hovering above Tokyo 3 (appropriate that the angel of the
womb would mature at a phenominal speed, or even know of a way to aviod it completly). This angel immediately
appeared to be unlike all before it. It's ring shape seemed to rotate around its axis, hinting that it was
not a static object. Although there was no real front to this angel, it was clear that this angel, was not
one that would remain as such. Its capabilities were a mystery, whether it would display abilties
similar to the other angels that had come before it was anyones guess. Ritsuko, was sure from the start that this angel
would be capable of shifting its shape, changing its appearance, but once again, into what, was a guess.
This was confirmed, when it did this, from a straight circle, into a patterned ring of diamonds.
Evangelion unit 00 was sent first, armed with a rifle, Rei approached the mysterious figure. The angel,
much like angel 05 Ramiel, was a silent watcher, and as soon at it saw Evangelion 00, it shifted itself
once again. It was now a flexable, solid hose like figure.
Incredibly menuverable, it shot itself towards evangleion 00 who managed to grab the angel and shot a number
of volleys into it, with no effect. It showed amazing speed with its menerverability, but even more
surprisingly was the strength of its AT-field, which tore through the At-field of evangelion 00 without
any problem. It began to fuse with the evangleion, invading the body of the evangelion, very similar to
what previous angels had done. It also used this time to communicate with Rei (about her lonliness) mentally,
to add to the physical torture. Evangelion 02 was sent immediatly to the surface, to aid Rei, but Auska
still suffering from the previous angel, was unable to pilot her eva. Upon hearing this, Gendou, releaced
Evangelion from chryo status, and sent Shinji to the surface to aid Rei. Upon Shinji reaching the surface,
he tried to attack the angel narrowling missing its attack (and Rei's fate) unable to effect the angel,
he withdrew to regroup and attack again, hoping to defeat the angel. However Rei knew this was impossible,
this angel was not defeatable by external means. As such she initiaed the self distruct on evangleion unit 00,
which would also kill the fusing angel, successfully achieving both. Even with her selflessness, Rei still
endured after the explosion.
