ANGEL 2 - LILITH
The seccond of the angels to confront humanity and the mother of mankind. Only being mentioned
in the mythology of the Jewish, she is the first wife of adam, not formed of the same clay as
adam, but dust and ashes. In the mythology she refused to be the obediant companion to adam,
forcing adam to reject her, hence the creation of Eve from adam. In Jewish folk law Lilith has
been described as a Mesopotamian night demon, having mated with Lucifer or the Devil/Satan and
his deamons after her rejection producing many lilims or female deamons, becoming the subjects
of many Jewish and Christian legends. She first appears in episode 15 Lie and silence.

Her past is just as mysterious as adam's beginning's are, its never stated clearly in the series.
Very little is said about this angel, which leaves one to assume a few things about her. Being the
seccond human created after adam, and being the mother of humanity, it would stand to reason that
she has always been around, anything else is speculation and guess work. It is thought that she may
have been found with the Lance of Longinous (perhaps where adam was found, maybe in antarctica?). However,
contrary to popular belief, it was her who was kept deep beneath NERV in terminal dogma, not adam.
She appears crucifed on a red cross, missing her legs (you can see lots of tiny human legs stucking out where her
legs should be). She is masked with the "Seven Eyes" mentioned in the dead sea scrolls
(upon which SEELE based its symbol). She also has the Lance of Longinous stuck into her chest,
preventing her from regenerating, hence she bleeds the L.C.L fluid (the orange/yellow stuff).
Her entire existance is virtually non eventful, never attacking anything, only being used in part to
build the evangelion units (unit 1 being a replacement for her in third impact). This is until the
End of Evangelion movie, in which, Rei merges with Lilith, to initiate third impact, taking all
the souls of humanity into herself, all apart from Shinji, protected inside evangelion unit 1.
She is ultimately destroyed when third impact fails and she beings to fall apart.
