ANGEL 3 - SACHIEL
The third angel to face humanity, and the first angel to attack Tokyo 3, also known as
the patron angel of water. The name Sachiel means "the covering of god" and in the scripture, it
is the angel with the charge of directing people great wealth and success. Also, some believe it
is a fallen angel who now serves the four subprinces of Hell's hierarchy. Being the first angel
to appear in over 15 years of silence, since the seccond impact, Sachiel is responsible with initiating
the test upon humanity, to begin the assault of the Angels upon mankind. He also is the angel from
which the angel symbol was taken. Sachiel first appears in episode 1 Angel attack!

Not surprisingly, this angels beginnings was in the ocean, approriate since this angel was
the angel of water. It swam through the old (now partly submerged) capital of Japan, Tokyo. In doing this
he ended the long 15 year wait since seccond impact, the reasons for such a long wait are not known,
although it was rumored that the Angels has always been on earth, laying dormant, until they were
"awakened" in seccond impact. The suspected idea is that an angel upon reaching adam, will fuse with
it and initiate third imapct. It, like all others after it, attacked Tokyo 3 alone, being totally
unswayed by the UN armed forces. The angel was bombed with an N2 mine, the first time one was ever
used, only burning part if it off, delaying it a few hours while it regenerated, (an unobserved,
but soon to become common phenomenon of the angels). More of this angel was analysed in this time period,
finding that it was not composed of normal matter, however its DNA sequence was 99.89% similar to that of
a humans. More of its abilities was noticed as it grew another head , to replace the damaged head, and it
also increaced its overall muscle mass, apparently adapting itself to its situation.
However the full potential of this angel was not seen until later, when it began its assault on Toyko 3.
Once again it surprised NERV with its abilties, a powerful projectile weapon, and another in each of its
arms, similar to the progressive knife used by the evangelion. It extended through its arms to come out of
its palms, able to be used as a lance weapon, or as a battering ram when it got a hold on its target. NERV
then launched the newly synced pilot Shinji Ikari, in evangelion unit 01 (being the only option) to face
this target (Ritsuko admitting that his chances of success were 0.000000001% likely). Sachiel quickly
gained the upper hand over the inexperienced pilot, disabling the evangelion. However, the evangelion
went bezerk, reactivating and relentlessly attacking the Angel. The Angels moderate AT-field wasn't
enough to hold the evangelion, as it ripped through it and as a last resort, its the Angel jumped on
the evangelion, using its last ability, to self destruct, failing to damage the evangelion.
