HIKARI HORAKI
The class representitive (or "class rep" as her class mates put it) Hikari
is the typical kind of responsible teenage girl. Living at home with her younger
sister and parents, she is a very orderly, fore thinking and a responsible person,
always doing what she thinks is right in a situation. She is the sort of girl that
many of us have known from our highschool years, focused on her acedemics, but also
the one that explores her feelings and tried to be as friendly as she can. Quickly
forming a close friendship with Asuka, she seems to act as the emotional anchor for
Asuka's wild temper and often over the top attitude.

Being 14 years old and a fairly typical teenage girl, she is often out with her friends,
more than likely Asuka, although she does have other friends. she seems to have
been the one that has lived in Neo Tokyo 3 the longest, being very well
settled in at her school and connected with people. Her life seems to be very happy,
not knowing the pain of the seccond impact her parents experienced, and not being involved
with the evanglelion in any way, except for the fact that she was also a potenitial pilot. She shows feeling for Touji, and later in the series
becoming girl friends to him, even being as sweet as to cook him lunches that they eat
together. Her family also takes in Asuka for a while later on in the series, when her
mental state begins to degrade, and also takes in Pen Pen, when Misato decides that it
is to dangerous for him to live with her.
The series doesnt go in any real detail on Hikari, none of the rest of her family is
shown. With Junko Iwao as her seiyuu, she first appears in episode 3 A transfer.
She doesnt change much either, basically perfoming the role of a supporting person.
Her main part in the series, was her friendship to Asuka, learning alot more about her
than many others. Apart from that her biggest development is when she gets together with
Touji. Her relationship with him was also never really explored, and she becomes less
important and less mentioned towards the end.
