KAJI RYOUJI
The typical guy of the evangelion series, Kaji is the kind of guy that loves
to think hes cute, being suggestive, but not idiotic as a person. He is the boyfriend of
Misato, also the head of the Special Surveillence department at NERV and also investigator
for the Japan government, assigned to spy on NERV. The object of Misato's affection, he apprently
shows a striking resemblence to Misato's father. Kaji seems to be far too sure of himself to need
friends, however he is a womaniser, almost always being with a female ( much to the
disapproval of Misato ).

Being 30 years old, his confience and nice, easy going attitude is not surprising, considering
that his worst two events in his life are the seccond impact and his difficulty
with Misato ( which isnt really difficult nor a bad thing at all ). Being born on June 17th, with
type A blood, he is also pursued by Asuka, he seems to love drawing attention to himself.
Immediately coming across as a the most normal of the characters in the seires,
Kaji is the type that loves to have fun pushing his luck with everyone. Living
on his own, but usually out somewhere ( whether it be with Misato, Asuka, or someone
else ) he is always doing something. Being an official for the Japanese government, and being the
perfect person for an infiltrator, Kaji is on the quest to find out the truth behind seccond impact,
the evangelion, and whoever is tied to it. Being also the ex-boyfriend of Misato, he is also on a
quest to reignite the fire between them, to once again prove himself to Misato after she rejected
him years ago.
Throughout the series, the events take him from being relatively uninvolved with
the evangelion, to being between a rock and a hard place. With Kouichi Yamadera as his
seiyuu, he first appears in episode 8 Asuka Strikes! After his arrival in Japan
with Asuka, he immediatly took up residence in Neo-Tokyo 3. Winning back Misato's
heart, he then attempted to complete his work and learn the truth behind the evanglion,
with the reluctant help of Misato. As he becomes more involved and pursuing the truth
becomes harder, he is forced into a an action he wishes he did not have to do,
and pays for it with his life.
