KEEL LORENTZ
The most mysterious figure in the series, Keel Lorentz is the most powerful
character in the series, the head of SEELE. He is also the chairman of the comittie
of the human completion project. His presence is never a physical one, nor does he ever
make his presence known by many. none the less, he is everywhere, he seems to know
about everything that is happening, has happened, even what is yet to happen. He
is the invisible hand, seemingly the force behind all the events, reponsible for
everything. Keel seems to have an unspoken desire, that he will sacrifice all
humanity and anything else in his way in order to attain it. If he has any friends,
i dont think even Gendou knows of them, although those on the board of SEELE seem
to all think like one another (all except for Gendou that is).

His past is shrouded in mystery, no one really known who he is. Some have gone as far as
to believe him the wandering Jew mentioned in the dead sea scrolls. He has obviously
been in a powerful position for a very long time. Knowing how to minipulate people,
and situations to his cause. He follows some hidden meaning in the dead sea scrolls which
seem to foretell all the events of the Angels. It is also interesting to note that his body,
from the backbone down, is entirely mechanical. He also has the UN and many world
governments in his pocket, and can use them as he likes. He is also responsible for sending
the Katsuragi expedition to Antarctica.
All the way through the series, he rarly appears, and even then it is only to the
board of SEELE, Gendou Ikari and on sometimes Kouzou Fuyutsuki. With Mugi Hito as
his seiyuu, he first appears in episode 2 Unfamiliar ceiling. He is usually
discussing recent events, the objectives of SEELE and what it expects of NERV.
In the movies, for some reason, decides to use the force of the UN and JSSDF to
invade and occupy Neo Tokyo 3. He deploys the evangelion series, for which their
real purpose is finally shown. The last we see of Keel, is upon the apparent
success of the occupation and the initiation of the third impact, he turns into
a puddle LCL.
