MISATO KATSURAGI
Captain / Major Misato is perhaps the most fun of the evangelion series. She
is the head of Militray Oprations department of NERV. Misato is the
sort of person that would rather be drunk and having a good time, than sober
and worrying about whats going to happen tomorow. She beings with a bang,
picking shinji up during the middle of an angel attack (that almost stepped
on her car) with her more than questionable driving skills. Dispite her good
taste, she is a messy person (her apparment testament before Shinji cleaned it ).
Misato is daughter of Dr. Katsuragi, the man who lead the expedition to antarctica,
taking his daughter with him. Misato is the quite a talkative person (but no where
as vocal as Asuka), and easily makes friends with everyone (although she will quickly
let you know where you stand if you cross her).

Being a typically seasoned 29 year old, she has had quite a life so far. Being born on
December 8th, with type A blood, she is the daughter of Dr. Katsuragi (father). she hated her father,
being present in antarctica during seccond impact and it was her father that saved her from
certain death. She escaped not only sustaining not only physical, but psychological wounds.
She went thorugh a long period of agnosia or loss of speech (2 years in fact), and when She
came out of her shell later, meeting Ritsuko and dating Kaji in her years at university. She
eventually joined NERV and became tactical officer after she broke up with Kaji (only to be
seduced by him again later).
Throught the series, Misato takes the role of a older sister figure to Shinji and
Asuka, coaching them to deal with themselves (and one another) as she once did.
With Kotono Mitsuishi as her seiyuu, she first appears in episode 1 Angel Attack!
Kaji helped her to once again accept him, and shows her that there alot
more to NERV than what she thought possible. With his assasination later in the
series, she continues his work. In the movies, Misato is forced to defend NERV from
an attack, not from an angel, but form an outnumbering froce from SEELE.
Continuing to do what she knows is right, she rescues Shinji from execution,
and takes him to evangelion unit 01, in which she is shot and bleeds to death, pleading
with Shinji to once and for all face himself, and face his destiny.
