RITSUKO AKAGI
Ritsuko is the sense of logic in the evangelion series, Ritsuko seems to be
a quiet, but definately not immature or innocent to whats going on. She is the
Systems Administrator and head of the Technology department at NERV and also
the daughter of scientist Naoko Akagi (Mother). She comes
accross as a dark horse, perferring to keep what he knows to herself, than to
risk sharing that with others. Ritsuko is a very highly organised person, with
never a thing out of place, a job half done, or a seccond not put to use, with
Mr. Hyouga Makoto, Ms. Maya Ibuki and Mr. Aoba Shigeru on her staff, she is
in charge of the Magi, by default making her in charge of all operations in
Neo Tokyo 3. Although she has Misato, Kaji, Maya, Aoba and Hyouga as friends,
and even thou she does socialise, she seem to prefer to be working, than be
doing other things.

Being 30 years old, her untouchable, almost arogent attitude, could be for a number of reasons.
Being born on November 21st, with type B blood, her attitude towards the slightly younger
Misato, and other generally may be that she is only under control by commander Gendou Ikari himself.
It may also be the death of her mother Naoko Ikari while working on the same Magi, the
seccond impact, the seemingly innocent minds of her friends, or other reasons,
she is always the logical one. This is not to say she doesnt have a soft side,
she loves cats as pets, loves a party and even a drink now and again. Her job
of maintaining the Magi means that she has access to virtually everything that
is in Tokyo 3, hence she knows as much as Gendou Ikari himself, and for this
reason is seen on a similar level. Misato, although her friend, has little
patience when she will not explain why she does, what she does.
Throught the series, Ritsuko play the role that, although is always in the
scene, she is always in the background. With Yuriko Tamaguchias her seiyuu,
she first appearing in episode 1 Angel Attack! She crosses Misato a number of times
with heartless decisions and statements, but this doesnt change what they think
of one another. She is tested when Angel 13 Bardiel, begins as a computer virus,
and begins to hack the Magi to trigger a self destruction to occour, which she defeats
with only a seccond to spare. as the series progresses, she grows more broken down
and desperate as she loses control over events in her life, and the interest of
Gendou Ikari (with whom she had an affair), and as a result destroying the dummy plug system.
In the movies, she once again , saves the Magi from a mass hacking affort from the various
branches of NERV around the world. After this she dissapears, only to appear right
before the end, wanting to kill Rei and Gendou, although getting shot by Gendou Ikari first.
