EVANGELION ?? - JET ALONE MODEL
Although never stated specifically in the series
or the game, it does stand to reason that both
belonged to the same project, rather than two
identical projects to create a robot similar to the evangelion.
These are the rather different models 1 and 2,
of the Jet Alone project. There was no designated
pilots for model 1, however there was 3 pilots
designated to model 2, one of which being Mana
Kirishima. Model one first appears in episode 7
The human creation, model 2 appearing the the RPG
game, "hagane no gorufurendo" (known as "girlfriend
of steel" or "iron maiden"). Both were constructed in Japan, but not by NERV (the Jet Alone project
was entirely seperate from NERV) being constructed by the Japanese miltary, among other organisations.
There only seemed to be one of the first model completed, however three of the seccond model was
constructed. The Jet Alone project, was a joint military project, an alternate answer the Angels,
their answer being an enormous, heavily armed mecha capable of defeating the Angels.

However, unlike the evangelion, that was enginierred from adam, these are simply a complex machiene, a
bloodless and soulless metal hulk with no AT field. Hence they are much more prone to malfunctions, and
technical failiures than the evangelion of NERV. Model 1, was simply an unpiloted mech, that used a
nuclear core, at the time this meant an unlimited activation time (something the evangelion lacked). This
single fact was reason enough for them to gloat, inviting NERV to its test activation. Unfortunately, the
activation of the unit caused a malfunction and it failed to respond to the shut down command, even more
alarming was that its nuclear core was going into meltdown. This forced NERV, to act, using evangelion 01
to slow it down, and get Misato Katsuragi on board to shut it down manually. It seems after the failiure
of model 1, the Jet Alone project moved its work to model 2. This unit was much more than its predecessor,
retaining the nuclear core, but also having interchangeable, combat and flight modes, utilising its numerous
jet engines to fly at high speed. These units, much the same as NERV's evangelion, was piloted by 14 year olds. All of
these units were destroyed by NERV, after two of the three pilots (not Mana Kirishma) refused to continue
piloting them (stealing them in the process). In the end , this whole thing was a waste of time, not one of
them ever saw active duty against an Angel, becoming yet another problem for NERV to solve.
