WHAT IS THE THEORY OF KEEL LORENTZ THE WANDERING JEW?
This question is one discussed by the real connoisseurs of Evangelion, the type of people
who find miniscule facts important. They have come up a rather intereting theroy of the
origins of Keel Lorentz and who he may have actually intended to be in the series. Just who
Keel Lorentz is in the context of Evangelion would make very little difference to the story
or majesty of the Evangelion series. Although many fans find that character difficult to swallow
and his origin may offer some reason as to why he had such a rock hard and steady, unwavering,
unquestionable arogent ambition to reach his goal at any cost and at any expense to mankind.
Please keep in mind this is theory only and there is no real evidence to this, it is meerly a
suggestion.
Keel Lorentz, unless you are already familiar with him, is the dark shaddowy figure that is head
of SEELE, Gendou Ikari's only superior to whom Gendou answers to and none other. Keel also has
contacts with Gendou's number one Dr (Kouzou) Fuyutsuki and also the Systems Administrator Ritsuko
Akagi. Keel Lorentz heads a committe of a dozen or so crusty old arogent men, all of whom seem
hell bent of implementing "human complementation", although exactly what they intend is as clear
as thick fudge. They are never wavering, always in control of everything, as if they have every
probability worked out into some master plan. Even Gendou Ikari, who on his own is freightning,
is nothing in comparison to Keel Lorentz. One could describe Keel Lorentz as the beginning and
the end, which everything starts and ends with him.
In christian theology, the Jews were the chosen people by god who prophesised the coming of a
saviour. This did come to place with Jesus Christ the son of god. Later on in his life he was
cricified on a cross on a hill behind Jerusalem by the Romans. This was because he was charged
as a blashemer by the authorities of Rome under pressure from the locals, for having claimed to be
King of the Jews. After being heavily beaten he was nailed the the crucifix, dehydrated and starved
to death, but not before a crown of thorns placed on his head, and stabbed in the side by the by
the Lance of a soldier named Longinus (hence its name the Lance of Longinus). Later on while he was
starving to death, a crowd of the locals gathered to furthur taunt him, as they were leaving one
spat on him for good measure, although for this final act he would find himself damned to walk
the earth until the ends of the earth, known as judgement day. This was supposed to have occurred
in early April, 34 A.D. and is the origins of the festival known today as Easter.
Keel Lorentz is theorised to be this individual that spat on Jesus, and damned to walk the earth
until judgement day. Keel Lorentz is very familir with the dead sea scrolls, the key stone to the
events in Evangelion, which was made strangely enough by the Jewish, his great familiarity, ability
to understand them and acquire them supports why he could be the wandering Jew. Also no doubt being
around for near 2000 years would drive any idividual over the edge explaining why he is so powerful
and will do anything to bring the world to the day of judgement.
