ORGANISATIONS - GEHRIN
Upon seccond impact, the world was thrown into chaos, the countless millions of deaths
threw the assurances of peace from the past out the window. As the world began to put the
pieces of itself back together, an organisation emerged from obscurity that promised hope,
a light to bring the shattered world back into one piece. The project was the baby of the
members of SEELE, Gehrin was the organisation to lead humanity into a new world of global
co-operation, to learn from the mistakes of the past, and re-establish man to his former
glory as masters of the world and beyond. Its industrial objective was primarily concerned
with the establishment of operational platforms and bases that could begin to handle their
roles of servicing mankind and defending against future possible catastrophy. Naturally
Gerhin became the leaders in many high end industries such as information technology,
medical products and services, high end offensive technology, advanced biologics,
leading edge technological breakthroughs and also including an armed force for the exclusive
use of Gehrin, following extension to its UN granted power.
Gehrin's most prominent position was the establishment of the soon to be new city capital
of Japan set to be moved in 2005 to Neo-Tokyo 3, which was to replace the temporary capital
of Neo-Tokyo 2 in Matsushiro. Headed by the leading scientific and organisational minds
of the day, biological science professor Dr. Kouzou Fuyutsuki, advanced computer systems
engineer Naoko Akagi, biological science graduate student and SEELE member Yui Ikari, all headed
under the organisational eyes of graduate student and SEELE member Gendou Ikari. The
establishment of Neo-Tokyo 3, saw the most marvellous engineering challenge ever in the history
of mankind. The task was to build a combat prepared city, complete with retractable buildings,
over a geo-front that would house a large operations base in its depths, controlled and
co-ordinated by the most advanced tri-system computer ever designed. To go even furthur, it was
responsible with secretly devloping a weapon against the angels, known as the project E
(evangelion), to which the existance of the evangelion or the angels, had been made blissfully
unaware to the public.
Gehrin saw its ends in 2010, during the partial completion of this task, in which both Yui Ikari
and Naoko Akagi had both met with trajic and untimely deaths. The additions of Ritsuko
Akagi, whom assumed the work of her two predacessors, and Misato Katsuragi, whom assumed
the role as tactical officer to co-ordinate the efforts of NERV under direction from
Gendou Ikari, soon saw this organisation renamed to NERV whom saw the completion of Gehrin's
task soon afterwards.
